Using family photos
I utilise some of my family photographs alongside my paintings and story of abuse, in order to create a more real and emotive experience for participators who can identify and connect with my life and that of their own lives.
Most of the photos are perceived as a typical 'Happy family' When in reality what lies beneath these portraits are lies and deceit, horrendous abuse, pain and trauma.

Cards and letters
I also use some of my personal cards and letters between my mother and I, as another tool to show our interactions after I made the decision to end all contact with her as an adult.

This is what I wrote inside the mothers day card when I was seven years old.

This was mothers last denial about being present when her boyfriend abused me.
